Opening Hours : Monday to Friday - 8 Am to 5 Pm
The Diploma in Health Records and Information Technology (HRIT) is designed to equip students with the knowledge and skills required to collect, manage, analyze, and secure health information in modern healthcare environments. The program integrates medical record management principles with cutting-edge information technology, enabling graduates to bridge the gap between healthcare delivery and data-driven decision-making. Students learn core concepts in medical terminology, health statistics, health information systems, coding and classification, database management, and ICT applications in healthcare. Emphasis is placed on accuracy, confidentiality, and ethical handling of patient records, in compliance with legal and professional standards. Through a combination of classroom instruction, practical lab sessions, and industrial attachment, learners gain hands-on experience in maintaining electronic health records (EHRs), implementing health information systems, and supporting healthcare providers with timely and reliable data. Upon completion, graduates are prepared for roles such as health records officers, medical data clerks, health information technicians, and IT support staff in hospitals, clinics, research institutions, NGOs, and government health agencies. The program also lays a strong foundation for further studies in health informatics, public health, and information systems.
